Study on Yangzhou Prefectural Governor in the Northern Wei Period

Conflicts between the Northern and Southern Wei Dynasty in the Jianghuai area lasted for decades without any breakthrough in Huainan defense line for a long time,but this situation dramatically changed in the first year of Jingming of the Northern Wei(500AD).Pei Shuye,who was the Yuzhou Prefectural Governor of the Southern Qi,used Shouchun fort to make Northern Wei surrender.Northern Wei at that time not only occupied Shouchun,established Yangzhou to rule Huainan region,but also extended Shouyang as the center of peripheral strategic area,which seriously threatened the capital Jiankang's security of the Southern dynasties.The Northern Wei sent his core Dairen groupas Prefectural Governor of Yangzhou,which effectively stabilized the security of Shouchun strategic fort in Huainan region,and made it occupy Yangzhou for a quarter of a century.
