Abstract
Wen Xue Xiao Yan is one of Wang Guowei's art essays composed in the early state of his academic career. It delineated the essence of Wang Guowei's early literary orientations from a variety of angles, specifically from the perspectives of ontology, axiology and taxolomy. It is of significant importance in academic history in the 20th century in that as one of the important components of his literary conceptions it not only established a theoretical basis for the study of Wang Guowei, but also remarkably embodied the links between classical traditions and modern concepts.
