Lactobacillus in Treatment of bacterial vaginosis:A Clinical Study

Objective To probe into the curative effects of lactobacillus on bacterial vaginosis(BV).Methods 120 cases with BV were divided randomly into 3 groups.Group A(n=40) were treated with metronidazole,Group B(n=40) with metronidazole combined with lactobacillus;Group C(n=40) with lactobacillus.Respectively on the 14th and 30th days after treatment,we compared the curative effects among the three groups.Results The curative effects of Group A and Group B were better than that of Group C on the first visit(on the 14th day)(82.5%,84.6% VS 56.4%;P0.05);On the second visit(on the 30th day),there was significant difference in curative effect among the 3 groups(79.1%,87.5%,68.2%,P0.05).Conclusion It is concluded that in the treatment of BV,metronidazole should be used first,and lactobacillus can be used to improve the endovaginal micro-organism environment when infection is controlled.
