Abstract

Objective To investigate the relationship of MVD, basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) and the clinical pathologic characters of prostate cancer (PCa). To explore the correlation between the multi-phase multi-slice computed tomography (MSCT) imaging features and the level of MVD,bFGF which were related indexs of microvascular. Materials and Methods Twenty-seven PCa cases were examined with multi-phase contrast-enhanced MSCT scanning. Each pathologic specimen was stained to detect the level of bFGF and MVD. Results There was significant positive correlation between bFGF and MVD (P0.01). MVD had significant positive correlation with Gleason grade and differentiation of the tumor (P0.01). MAV had a positive correlation with bFGF and MVD (P0.01). Conclusion The MSCT features of PCa can be influenced by many factors including angiogenesis, the expression of bFGF and so on.
