Abstract

Objective To explore the expression and significance of MMP-28 in RAU、OLP、OLK.Methods The expression intensity and distribution of MMP-28 were examined and compared with immunohistochemistry and Western-blot method among 14 cases of recurrent aphthous ulcer(RAU),16 cases of oral lichen planus(OLP) and 15 cases of oral leukoplakia(OLK),12 cases of normal oral mucosal(NOM).Results The expression level of MMP-28 in oral lichen planus and oral leukoplakia patients was higher than that in normal oral mocosa and recurrent aphthous ulcer(P0.05),and the expression level of MMP-28 in oral leukoplakia patients was significantly higher than that in others(P0.05).Conclusions The expression level of MMP-28 in oral lichen planus and oral leukoplakia patients is significantly increased,which indicates that MMP-28 may play a role in the pathogenesis of those precancerous diseases.
