Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effect of pterygium excision combined with autologous limbal stem cell transplantation in treating pterygium.Method Under microscope,we used the method of pterygium excision combined with limbal stem cell transplantation in treatment of primary and recurrent pterygium 473 cases(496 eyes),followed up after operation for 6 months to 5 years. Results 479 eyes were cured, the cure rate was 96.57%;17 eyes recurred, the recurrence rate was 3.43%;recurrence of these recurrent pterygium was 10 eyes(2.02%),early onset pterygium recurrence was 7 eyes(1.41%).Conclusion Pterygium excision combined with limbal stem cell transplantation is a simple, and effective method for treatment of pterygium with lowrecurrencerate.
