Abstract
In an acetate buffer solution of pH 3.0 and in the presence of Triton X 100, bis (butoxycarbonyl ethyl) tin dichloride (abbreviated as R 2SnCl 2) reacts with morin to form a 1∶1 coloured complex which has an absorption maxima at 420nm and an apparent molar absorptivity of 3.33×10 4L·mol -1 ·cm -1 . Beer′s law is obeyed in the range of 0~4.0mg·L -1 for tin in R 2SnCl 2. The proposed method has been applied to the determination of R 2SnCl 2 in PVC intermediate and polluted water with sutisfactory results.
