Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the preventive use of antibacterials during the perioperative period of cesarean section and observe the effect of using antibiotics at different stages on prevention of incision infections.METHODS By means of the prospective survey,a total of 1172 patients undergoing cesarean section from 2009 to 2010 were investigated, and the statistical analysis of the use of antibiotics during perioperative period, drug categories,DDDs,duration of medication, and drug combination was performed through Excel 2003 and SPSS13.0.RESULTS Of 1172 patients undergoing the cesarean section investigated, the mean hospital stay was 6.9 days, the average medication duration was 2.36 days, and the utilization rate of antibiotics was 100.0%.There were 1117(95.31%) patients who used only one drug,54(4.52%) patients who used two-drug for medication, and 2(0.18%) patients who used three-drug for medication. There were 1085(92.58%) patients who received the single ceftriaxone. The intraoperative utilization rate was 44.47% in 2009,the intraoperative dosing rate after ligation of the umbilical cord was 99.47%,and the average postoperative incision infection rate was 0.17%,the difference in the surgical incision infection rate between the two groups was not statistically significant.CONCLUSION The perioperative use of antibacterials in the majority of CS patients is rational. It is advantageous to ensure maternity and child health care by practicing breast feeding as early as possible when the prophylactic antibiotics are taken through vein injection after ligating umbilical core in operation.
