Present Situations,Problems and Countermeasures of University Journals' Entry into International Index Systems

In view of the fact that a very few university journals in China have make entry into international index systems,the authors make an analysis of the acceptance of Chinese university journals by six international index systems(EI,SA,CA,AJ,and Japan's Quick Report on Scientific Technological Literature)based on rvlevant statistics.To tackle the problems Chinese university journals now face,i.e.the self enclosed running of journals,their too broad and sundry columns,unfocused speciality orientations,unstressed disciplinary advantages,weak academic competitiveness,the existing great gap between most Chinese university journals' overall academics and the selection standards of authoritative intrenational index systems,and the unsteady contact of Chinese university journals with international index systems,the two authors are here offering several countermeasures to help Chinese universith journals enter international index systems,e.g.the increased publication of key project papers and those supported by China's national foundations,readjustment of journals' columns and contents,more understanding of and strengthened contact with international index systems,repetitive and timely mailing of journal copies,and the upgrading of journals' paper quality.These all prove to be effective ways to greatly increase Chinese university journals' publication rate in international index systems.
