Abstract
Objective: Based on the early effects of treatment, the therapeutic effect was retrospectively analyzed by using grain moxibustion treatment for advanced gastric cancer for five years and 50 cases of effective medical records were included. Methods: 50 cases of patients were treated with grain moxibustion and Zusanli( ST36) and Weishu( B 21) were the main acupoints,to observe the digestive symptoms after one month of treatment. Patients were evaluated by using the EORTC QLQ- C30 and repeated the evaluation after six months. Compare with the first medical treatment. The study recorded the time in which the patients were treated with moxibustion and therapeutic effect of moxibustion. The median survival time five years after surgery was recorded. Results: After one month of treatment, the digestive symptoms such as bloating, anorexia, nausea had significantly reduced. Patients were evaluated by using the EORTC QLQ- C30 and repeated the evaluation after six months, compared with the first medical treatment. Overall health score of patients was significantly improved( P 0.05). The scores of fatigue, insomnia, and other digestive symptoms had improved( P 0.05); the time that 61. 5% of patients treated with moxibustion was equal to or more than six months; for the patients who were first received moxibustion treatment, the time of therapeutic effect of moxibustion was 7 ~ 14 days. Five years after surgery, the median survival time was 57. 2 months. Conclusion: As to the adjuvant therapy for advanced gastric cancer, the moxibustion can relieve digestive symptoms and improve quality of life. Becausee it is effective, simple and easy to operate. In the clinic it is worthy of development and application.
