Efficacy of open hernia operation and laparoscopic hernia ligation in pediatric patients with inguinal hernia

Objective To discuss the differences of curative effects between open hernia sac high ligation and two umbilical laparoscopic hernia sac high ligation. Methods Between June 2008 and May 2013,691 cases of pediatric patients with indirect inguinal hernia were included and divided into a group of open hernia sac high ligation( control group) and a group of two umbilical laparoscopic hernia sac high ligation( observation group). Results In the observation group,the mean hospital day was ( 1. 2 ± 0. 3) days. The time of operation was ( 20 ± 6) min,The payment for treatment was ( 3 551 ± 234) Yuan and three cases of them were recurrent. In the control group,the mean hospitalisation lasted ( 2. 4 ± 0. 7) days. The operation time was( 34 ± 9) mins. The payment for treatment was ( 2792 ± 134) Yuan and 7 cases were recurrent. There were obviously difference between the two groups ( t = 21. 564、24. 251、16. 452,χ2=21. 341,P all 0. 05). Conclusions The clinical effect of indirect inguinal hernia in children applied with two umbilical laparoscopic hernia sac high ligation was superior than open hernia sac high ligation.
