Abstract

Objective To compare the efficacy and scar formation of liquid nitrogen freezing,CO2 laser, and microwave treatments on pyogenic granuloma.Method 218 patients with pyogenic granuloma were assigned into three groups and received the above-mentioned three treatments respectively. The therapeutic effect and scar formation were recorded. Results The improvement rate among three groups did not show a significant difference(P0.05).However,the one-off cure rate in nitrogen freezing group was obviously lower than that of the other two groups(P0.01).The scar formation of microwave group was the least and CO2 laser group was the highest.(:CO2 laser groupnitrogen freezing groupmicrowave group). Conclusion All three physical therapies could be effectively used to treat pyogenic granuloma. The one-off cure rate of CO2 laser and microwave are better than that of nitrogen freezing. The scar formation of microwave is better than other methods.
