Abstract

Mao Zedong thought on opening to the outside world is an important part with Chinese characteristics and its own unique content. It was concluded generally by Mao Zedong based on Marxist stand, viewpoint and method in the long-term practice of Chinese revolution and construction. The present paper discusses on the basic concept of Mao Zedong thought on opening in the war period and the main elements and the objective and subjective reasons of its failure to implement Mao Zedong thought in this aspect after the founding of New China. There are many flash points in Mao Zedong thought on this issue that has great practical significance for the development and implementation of China's basic national policy of opening up and promote the practice of opening-up.
