Exploration on situational context from the systemic-functional linguistic approach

The use of language cannot be detached from a certain context,which has an influence on people′s comprehension of the given texts,and among which the situational context plays a major role.On the basis of the theoretical research of systemic-functional linguistics,situational context comprises three variables including field of discourse,tenor of discourse and mode of discourse,which respectively correspond to the three functions of language.Situational context may make accurate analysis and prediction for semantic features and linguistic forms in the given texts.
