Abstract
Objective:To assess the value of ORBSCANⅡsystem in the pre-operative measurement for patients undergoing LASIK. Methods:Between March 2007 and March 2008, the thinnest corneal thickness in 86 eyes of 43 myopic subjects were measured with ORBSCAN Ⅱ and DGH ultrasound pachymetry. The results were treated statistically and the differences were analyzed. Results:The mean corneal thickness readings with ORBSCAN Ⅱ were (536.9±30.4)μm vs (547.1±27.4)μm with ultrasound. There was a statistical difference(P0.05) in corneal thickness between the two groups. Conclusion:The ORBSCANⅡcorneal thickness readings should not be used to replace the need for ultrasound measurements.
