A Survey of the Research on the Passive Voice of the Chinese Translation of Buddhist Scripture in the Middle Ancient Times

Recent research on the passive voice of the Chinese translation of Buddhist scripture roughly falls into four aspects:(1)carry out research on the passive voice of Chinese language or Buddhist scripture on the basis of study of scripture translation in the Middle Ancient Times;(2)reveal the different characteristics and their causes between the passive voice of the Chinese translation of Buddhist scripture and the classical Chinese literature;(3)explore the source,pattern and origin of new passive voice sentences in the Chinese translation of Buddhist scripture in the Middle Ancient Times;and(4) examine the linguistic material of the Chinese translation of Buddhist scripture in the early stage.Further research should be conducted to get a complete picture of the passive voice of the Chinese translation of Buddhist scripture in the Middle Ancient Times on the one hand and explain the mechanism of the special passive voice of the Chinese translation of Buddhist scripture in the Middle Ancient Times on the other hand.
