Abstract
Objective:To evaluate ultrasound-guided catheterization of the internal jugular vein in high risk route in superior vena cava syndrome patients.Methods:30 superior vena cava syndrome patients were divided into two groups.The internal jugular vein catheterization was performed by the ultrasound-guided and conventional methods respectively,observing the successful rate with one attempts and more than two attempts,puncture time and complications in two groups.Results:The satisfactory successful rate was 100% and 80.00% respectively in ultrasound-guided group and conventional group,86.67% and 53.33% with one attempts,13.33% and 26.67% with more than two attempts.The complication rate was 0.00% and 20.00%。 Conclusion:The ultrasound-guided technique offers both safety and convenience in catheterization of the internal jugular vein in high risk route.
