Abstract
George Eliot,the English writer of the nineteenth century,was deeply influenced by the thought of the Religion of Humanity of Feuerbach.Many of her novels are permeated with the thought of the Religion of Humanity.This thesis analyzes the sympathies,moralities and responsibilities embodied by the protagonists Dorothea,Lydgate and Farebrother in George Eliot's Middlemarch.Through the analysis we can realize the moral principles based on the Religion of Humanity advocated by George Eliot.
