Supplement Causes of Emperor Xiaowen's Moving the Capital to Luoyang in the Northern Wei Dynasty

Abstract

Moving the capital to the south was historic tradition of the Northern Dynasty. Emperor Xiaowen discarded Pingcheng to choose Luoyang as the capital,was to realize his politics ideal. Emperor Xiaowen's legitimated thought and unified ideals manifested the inevitability,and the the custom reform carried on after that showed the necessity of moved to Luoyang.Looking from the argument of suggested move to Luoyang by the Eastern Jin Dynasty,Luoyang was the capital city of the first choice for unified empire. Emperor Xiaowen moved the capital to Luoyang was precisely has settled on Luoyang's politics symbolic significance and the cultural value.
