The clinical study of phacoemulsification for angle-closure glaucoma with cataract

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of phacoemulsification for angle-closure glaucoma combined cataract.Methods Phacoemulsification and PC-IOL implantation was performed on 37 cases (37 eyes) with primary angle-closure glaucoma combined cataract. Results The postoperative follow-up was 6-18 moths,the visual acuity improved in all patients and more than 54.05%0.5.Postoperative IOP was less than 18 mmHg in 22 eyes without using any antiglaucoma agents.IOP in 5 cases was less than 18 mmHg and may be effectively controlled by one kind of antiglaucoma medications. Conclusions Phacoemulsification and PC-IOL implantation is an effective treatment method for angle-closure glaucoma combined cataract.
