Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of phacoemulsification with posterior chamber intraocular lens (PC_IOL) implantation in the management of angle_closure glaucoma combined cataract. Methods Phacoemulsification and PC_IOL implantation was performed on 27 cases (27 eyes) with primary angle_closure glaucoma combined cataract. Results The postoperative follow_up was 6-18 months. The visual acuity improved in all patients and more than 51.9%0.5.Postoperative IOP was less than 18 mmHg in 22 eyes without using any antiglau_coma agents.IOP in 5 cases was less than 18 mmHg and may be effectively controlled by one kind of antiglau_coma medications. Conclusion Phacoemulsification and PC_IOL implantation is an effective treatment method for angle-closure glaucoma combined cataract.
