Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical value of 16-slice spiral CT coronary angiography in comparison with conventional coronary artery angiography. Methods 20 patients underwent coronary imaging with GE Lightspeed Pro 16 computed tomography. All coronary artery and side branches with luminal diameter ≥ 2mm were assessed. The imaging data of 16-slice CT scans was reconstructed with MIP(maximal intensity projection) ,CPR(curved planner reconstruction) ,VR(volume rendering) . Conventional coronary artery angiography was performed in all cases by contrast. Re-sults Of 205 coronary arteries,180 could be evaluated. Comparative study showed that the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value for the detection of ≥50% stenosis of 16-slice coronary CT angiography were 80.7%,94.8%,72.4%,96.6% respectively. Conclusion 16-slice spiral CT coronary angiography provides a noninvasive and sensitive diagnostic technique for the screening of ≥ 50% stenosis of coronary artery disease.
