Abstract
Thiobacillus ferrooxidans is one of important bacteria in desulfurization field.The utilization of the sulfur combination by Thiobacillus ferrooxidans was studied.Then the bacterium was domesticated with sulfur medium,and its growth characteristics respectively with sulfur and ferrous iron as substrates were compared.Results showed that as the energy source of the bacterium Na2S2O3 was the easiest for use,followed by sulfur and Na2SO3.The oxidizing ability of Thiobacillus ferrooxidans to sulfur was strengthened after domestication with sulfur medium,but the shape and configuration of the bacterium changed.
