Cai Yuanpei's Humanitarian Thoughts and Their Historical Implications

Based on his comparative study of Western humanism and Chinese traditional ethics like rightness,reciprocity and humaneness,Cai Yuanpei argued that humanism should be the mainstream ethics,and that liberty,equality and fraternity were the origin of morality.These arguments plus his support for the liberation of man instilled fresh thoughts into the ideological circle and educational circle of his time.
