Abstract

The New Urbanism is the activity in order to promote the neighborhood and region to develop healthily. It has exerted relevant influences on the urban constructions in North America. The paper introduces the development of the New Urbanism with its theories and practices, and analyzes the resource of its ideology and prospects in the future. Finally its enlightenment to the present Chinese urban design is summarized.
