The Similarities and Differences of Shen Deqian and Qian Qianyi's Views on "the False Style"——On Success and Failure of their Poetry Anthology

Qian Qianyi advocatedDistinguishing and eliminating fakeat end of Ming Dynasty and beginning of Qing Dynasty,cleaning sham and establishing legitimate literature.He influenced Shen Deqian who compiled poetry anthology.The two great writers took cleaning false and promoting Confucian poems as their own duty,but their standards of elegance and vulgar,truth and fake were different.There was bifurcation in their poetry anthology because they took different view on Yanyu,the Jiangxi group,the seven men of Ming dynasty,the Gongan group,the Jingling group and Cheng Jiashui.Besides,Shen Deqian and Emperor Qian Long took opposite attitude to Qian Qianyi.Shen Deqian and Qian Qianyi's views on the false style also highly summarized poetic theory which led poem world at end of Ming dynasty and beginning of Qing dynasty.
