Abstract
Objective To study the role of Reinforcing Qi and Nourishing Yin on vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and matrix metalloproteinase 2(MMP2) in cervical carcinoma cells. Methods Cervical carcinoma U14 spontaneous metastasis model was adopted. The expression of VEGF and MMP2 in cervical carcinoma was investigated by immunohistochemical and morphological analytics methods. Results Reinforcing Qi and Nourishing Yin group has no strong positive and 11 medium positive(22%) in the expression of VEGF.It has 7 strong positive(14%) and 4 medium positive(8%) in the expression of MMP2.The expression of VEGF and MMP2 in Reinforcing Qi and Nourishing Yin group were lower than the control group(P0.01).Conclusion Reinforcing Qi and Nourishing Yin has inhibitory effects on angiogenesis. Its mechanism may be associated with the down-regulating of VEGF and MMP2 expression.
