Abstract

With the development of computer technology, GIS and database technology, the spatial database technology has grown with each passing day. The database mode of Oracle + ArcSDE is a proven and steady technology of spatial data management. It is also the main mode of provincial fundamental geographic database. ArcSDE is the middleware to connect the GIS application program with relation database system. It stores and manages the spatial and attribute data all together. The key technologies were described by the design of Guangdong 1∶10 000 vector database.
