Abstract

Objective To analyze the diagnostic value of ultrasonography and the causes of misdiagnosis for uterine adenomyosis. Methods Transvaginal or abdominal ultrasonography examinations were performed in 88 patients with uterine adenomyosis before surgery.Imaging features were compared with pathology. Results Ultrasound findings of uterine adenomyosis were classified into diffuse type and focal type.Compared with the pathology after surgery, the diagnostic accuracy for ultrasonography was 88.6%,the misdiagnosis rate was 8.0%,the missed diagnosis rate was 3.4%.Conclusion Ultrasound is valuable in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of adenomyosis clinically.
