Abstract
A method for analysis of the chemical composition of shale oil was devised by employing adsorption chromatography,urea-adduct formation, and functional group determinations. It was found that the gas oil fraction of Fushun shale oil contains 27.2% paraffins,25.3% olefins(both with straight chain predominating),15.2% aromatics; in its non-hydrocarbon portion,6% pyridines and quinolines,2% nitriles,3% pyrrole-like substances,6% monohydric phenols,3% sulfur com- pounds, and probably 1% dihydric phenols, less thin 1% carboxylic acids,3% carbonyl compounds and 2% esters were found.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.

Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
