The New Policies in the Late Qing Dynasty and the Rise of National Sports Awareness

Abstract

Between 1901 and 1911 the Qing Dynasty carried out a series of reforms involving economy,politics,education and military as well as sports.This paper studies the rise of national sports awareness during that period.It is assumed that such awareness is conducive to understanding the Olympic Games and holding the 1st National Sports Meet.
