Abstract

Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of concurrent intensity modulated radiation therapy and chemotherapy in postoperative treatment of cervical cancer.Methods:62patients of cervical cancer were divided into two groups. The experimental group included 32 cases who had undergone intensity modulated radiation therapy. The control group included 30 cases, who had undergone conventional radiotherapy. The differences in rate of early concurrent chemoradiation side effects and treatment effects were observed. Results:The efficacy was evaluated 6months after radiotherapy, effective rate was 100.0%in the experimental group and 96.7%in the control group, the difference had no statistical significance. The severity of acute radiation damage in gastrointestinal and hematology between the two groups had no statistical significance. The severity of acute radiation damage in skin and the urinary system in the experimental group was lower than control group, the difference was statistically significant(P 0.01,P0.05).Conclusion:Concurrent chemotherapy and intensity modulated radiation therapy for cervical cancer after surgery achieved a satisfactory effect. It could reduce acute radiation damage, with the less side effects at urinary system and was superiority at protection of the skin.
