Abstract
Urbanization and industrializat ion is the requirement of the economic development and social progress and a prerequisite to upgrading agricultural economic structure, transforming the way of life in the rural areas, solving the problems with agriculture, countryside and farmers and achieving the integration of the rural and urban areas. But land expropriation increases in the process of urbanization and industrialization, and the excessive land expropriation causes the loss of farm land and harms the interests of the framers. Therefore,it is imperative to enhance the protection of farmers’rights and interests in land expropriation so that land can be smoothly expropriated without harming the interests of the farmers. We can find an effective approach by applying the public choice theory to analyze the status quo and the governments’behavior in land expropriation.
