Abstract
Objective: To study the iodine nutrient status of the early pregnant women in Jinan City. Methods: Urinary iodine of the 426 early pregnant women was determined by chloric acid-digestion and arsenic-cerium catalysis. Results: The median of urinary iodine of the pregnant women was 173.2μg/L.The mean level of urinary iodine was 218.51±171.8 μg/L.The number higher than 150μg/L was 252(59.15%).The number lower than 100μg/L was 86(20.19%).The number lower than 50μg/L was 12(2.82%).Conclusion: Iodine deficiency existed in many early pregnant women. In order to prevent from iodine deficiency,it is essential to check up urinary iodine in the early pregnancy.
