Abstract
[Objective] To understand the levels of urinary iodine metabolism during different pregnant period among local pregnant women, so as to prevent the birth defects caused by iodine deficiency. [Methods] By peracetic acid oxidation of TMB color method, dynamic determination was conducted to determine the urine iodine content of women during pregnancy and non-pregnancy. [Results] The median urinary iodine among 211 pregnant women in early, middle and later pregnancy were 106.25 μg / L, 97.83 μg / L and 132.61μg / L, respectively. The median urinary iodine in the early pregnancy showed significantly higher than that of the middle pregnancy (P 0.05); The median urinary iodine in the later pregnancy showed higher than that of the middle pregnancy (P﹤0.005). The urine iodine level of pregnant women was significantly lower than that of non-pregnant women (P﹤0.005). [Conclusion] The local residents maintain relatively low level of iodine nutrition, and it is necessary to carry out dynamic monitoring of urinary iodine and guidance of reasonable supplement for iodine.
