An empirical study of the industrial agglomeration,knowledge spillover and regional growing performance in Yangtze River Delta

The exploration of the different combinations of industry agglomeration in Yangtze River Delta(YRD) and the corresponding role of knowledge spillovers bring us closer to the impact of industry agglomeration on regional economic growth performance from the perspective of efficiency.This paper shows that there is a significant positive MAR spillover effect and an insignificant negative Jacobs spillover effect in YRD in general.Moreover,technology pool and absorb capacity are two major mechanics acting on spillovers in this area.Therefore,it is necessary to introduce disparity industrial policies for different cities,promote cooperation and make elaborate labor division in order to stimulate the economic growth in this area.
