Current Status of Essential Public Health Service in Township Health Centers of Tibet

Abstract

Objective To investigate the present situation of essential public health service in township health centers and to provide references for strengthening the construction of service functions.Methods With sampling questionnaire survey method,92 medical personnel from 87 township health centers completed the questionnaires.Results Of the 92 respondents,61.85%were from agricultural area and 75.15% worked in clinical departments.There were 98.91%of the township health centers carried out the planned immunization;95.51%implemented TB health education;93.02%established and applied the resident health files;92.68%implemented epidemic reporting and monitoring of infectious diseases;38.10%carried out the supervision and management of mental patients(severe)and 51.76%carried out diabetes screening and diabetes management.Conclusion The public health work in township health centers in Tibet are carried out unevenly and the overall level need to be elevated.
