The Effect of Allelopathy of Coreopsis lanceolata L. on Seed Germination and Seedling Growth of Chinese Cabbage

Abstract

The allelopathic effect of extract from the roots,stem and leaves of Coreopsis lanceolata L.at different concentrations on seed germination of cabbage(Brassica chinensis L.)was studied.The results showed that with the exception of leaf extract at 1∶60,all C.lanceolata extract treatments in the study restrained seed germination and seedling growth of cabbage.The restraining effect increased with extract concentration and appeared in the order of root leaf stem.
