Abstract

The right to publicity refers to the right of one person to having his name, image, or other attributes used for commercial purposes. Rather than a purely pecuniary right grounded on labor theory, it is a freedombased right with both moral and economic characteristics . It should be regarded as one kind of intangible property. In practice, its scope for protection should be limited.
