Analysis of clinical of phacoemulsification on acute angle-closure glaucoma with cataract

Objective To investigate the effectiveness of phacoemulsification on primary angle-closure glaucoma with cataract.Methods 32 patients(37 eyes) who had primary angle-closure glaucoma with cataract received phacoemulsification treatment.The intraocular pressure(IOP),visual acuity and the depth of anterior chamber border were observed prior to the treatment,immediately after and three months after the treatment.Results There were various level of improvement in the corrected visual acuity among the patients.Reduction in IOP was observed.The anterior chamber depth became deepened(≥1CT).The anterior chamber angle became wider.Conclusion The phacoemulsification was an effective operation for primary angle-closure glaucoma with cataract,which with preoperative IOP controlled and angle closure less than 1/2 perimeter.
