Abstract

Objective: To investigate the effects of nano-silver base inorganic antibacterial agents on Candida albicans biofilm formation. Methods: XTT reduction assay was performed to determine the effects of nano-silver base inorganic antibacterial agents on Candida albicans activity.Crystal violet biofilm assay was applied to determine the effects of the antimicrobial agent on the biofilm biomass. The biofilm was stained by crystal violet for observing its morphology. Results: The reduction rate of Candida albicans biofilm activity and biomass were(96.1±3.0)% and(95.4±2.7)% respectively when the concentration of antimicrobial agentwas 0.62mg/ml,and the biofilmwas not observed by invertedmicroscope. Conclusions: Nano-silver base inorganic agent was confirmed to inhibit Candida albicans biofilm formation.
