Abstract

Improvements on the method for the determination of residual vinyl chloride and 1,1-dichloroethane in PVC resins were introduced.Good separation effects were obtained by adopting empty headspace method,GDX301(180~ 250 μm) chromatographic pillar with inner diameter 2 mm and length 1 m.The peak form was good. The recovery of standard sample added were 89.4%~104.0% for vinyl chloride and 102.4%~110.0% for 1,1-dichloroethane,the relative standard deviation were 0.51% for vinyl chloride and 1.11% for 1,1-dichloroethane,and the limits of detection were 0.02 μg/g for vinyl chloride and 0.1 μg/g for 1,1-dichloroethane.This method was simple to operate, needed less time, gave good chromatography separation effects and nearly linear standard curve, and the accuracy and precision met the requirement of analysis and determination.
