Abstract

The method for determination of residual vinyl chloride monomer in polyvinyl chloride artificial leather by headspace-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry is established. The polyvinyl chloride artificial leather is dissolved by N,N-dimethylacetamide(DMA).The sample is injected into the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS) with headspace sampler after equilibrating at 70℃ for 30 min.The calibration curve of vinyl chloride is linear in the range of 0.2~20 μg,and the correlation coefficient r is 0.999.The average recoveries of vinyl chloride are in the range of 88%~92% with relative standard deviations(n=6) less than 5.5% in three levels respectively. The detection limit of the method is 0.2 mg/kg.The method is simple, convenient and accurate which is suitable for determining the residual vinyl chloride monomer in polyvinyl chloride artificial leather.
