Abstract
Objective :To explore the influence of edaravone on the serum levels of SOD and MDA in patients with acute cerebral infarction and therapeutic efficacy. Methods:Sixty cases with acute cerebral infarction were divided randomly into control group and treatment group. Two groups were given routine treatment. The treatment group was added edaravone for 14 days. The serum levels of SOD and MDA were measured before treatment and 7d,14d and 21d after treatment.Therapeutic efficacy was evaluated by The European Stroke Scale(ESS).Results:The serum level of SOD and MDA in the treatment group and the control group had no significant difference before treatment(P0.05).The serum level of SOD in two group was significantly higher after treatment(P0.05) but the serum level of MDA was lower than that before treatment(P0.05).After treatment the serum levels of SOD in the treatment group was much higher than that in control group(P0.01) but the serum levels of MDA in the treatment group was much lower than that in control group(P0.01).ESS of the treatment group and control group at 7d,14d and 21d had significant differences. Conclusion:Edaravone can effectively scavenge the free radicals of ischemic brain cells, inhibit lipid peroxidation, protect neurocytes and improve the prognosis of patients with acute cerebral infarction.
