Abstract
AIM: To evaluate clinical efficacy and safety of nabumetone in treating rheumatoid arthritis (RA). METHODS: Seventy six patients with RA were divided into two groups. Forty six patients of nabumetone group [M 14, F 32;age 45 a± s 11 a(22~68)a], were treated with nabumetone tablets 1 g, po ,qd×4 wk. Thirty patients of diclofenac group [M 6, F 24; age 44 a±10 a(26~64 a)] were treated with diclofenac tablets 50 mg, po , qd×4 wk. Clinical efficacy, laboratory indexes and adverse reactions were observed. RESULTS: Total effective rate (91%) of nabumetone group was much higher than that of diclofenac(73%, P 0.05). Clinical indexes of two groups were obvious improved ( P 0.01) after treatment. Adverse reaction rate (15%) of nabumetone group was much lower than those of diclofenac group(37%, P 0.05). CONCLUSION: Nubumetone has higher efficacy and lower adverse reaction in the treatment of RA.
