Endovascular Treatment of Intracranial Artery Aneurysm with Guglielmi Detachable Coil

Objective:To discuss the techniques and complications in endovascular embolization of intracranial artery aneurysm with Guglielmi detachable coil(GDC),and to evaluate the therapeutic effect of the treatment.Methods:A total of 43 cases with intracranial artery aneurysm to embolize the aneurismal sac via femoral artery approach.The hemorrhage was early removed from subarchroid cavity after operation.Results:43 in 47 aneurysms were embolized,among which the sac of 39 aneurysms achieved 100% embolization,4 with 95% embolization,1 with 90% embolization.2 cases of bleeding happened during the operation,and 5 cases of cerebral vasospasm(CVS)happened during the embolization.3 cases of CVS happened after the operation.37 patients recovered clinically,2 patients died,and 2 others were performed cerebral vertical abdominal cavity drainage due to dropsy of the brain.Nore-bleeding occurred in the follow-up.Conclusion:GDC occlusion is a safe and effective treatment for the interacanial aneurysm.Early embolization together withproper treatment after the operation will decrease the complications and improve the future outcomes.
