Abstract

Based on the collection of literature investigation,this paper analyzed the attention from sociology on the phenomena of sports and the development of sociology of sport from the early sociological study on the phenomena of sports,the establishment of sport sociology as an independent subject and the representative scholars in sociology of sport,discussed the importance of various sociological theories,in which functionalism,Marxism,feminism,figurational sociology and symbolic interactionism included in the research and development of sociology of sport.
