Analysis of the Detection of TB Patients in Kuiwen District from 2001 to 2008

Abstract

[Objective]To investigate the detection of tuberculosis patients(TB) in Kuiwen district,Weifang,provide scientific basis for improving TB prevention and control.[Methods]Registration and sputum examination data of TB patients from 2001 to 2008 were analyzed.[Results]Altogether 514 new TB cases were registered from 2001 to 2008.The average registration rate of new TB patients was 18.64/100 000,and 29.20/100 000 in 2008.Of the 1 338 patients tested for sputum,300 cases were smear positive.The average registration rate of new smear positive TB patients was 10.88/100 000.Of the 514 new TB cases,the cases aged from 15 to 54 accounted for 79.77%.Of the 300 new smear positive TB cases,the cases aged from 15 to 54 accounted for 79.00%.The average registration rate of new TB patients was 18.30/100 000 in city proper and 20.95/100 000 in suburbs.[Conclusion]The registration rate and smear-positive rate of new TB patients were lower in Kuiwen district from 2001 to 2008.
