Chang'an: the place for study of Confucian classics in the West Han Dynasty

Chang'an in the West Han Dynasty was already a metropolis.It was the center of politics,economy and culture of the West Han empire.At the very beginning of the emergence of Confucian classics study,it was the center for the study of it,with a great clustering of the experts on the field and a wide spread of its ideas and collection of its works.Therefore,it was known as the center for the study and education of Confucian classics.At present,when the investigation for the culture and ideology of the West Han Dynasty,the position and the influence of Chang'an should not be neglected.And many problems existing in the field can,probably,be solved if further study of the Confucian classics is carried out.
