Abstract

Objective To observe the efficacy of gabexate mesilate(GM) in patients undergoing thoracic surgery. Methods Seventy-one patients scheduled for thoracic operation were randomly divided into two groups. The patients in group A were not given GM as the controls and those in group B were given GM 600mg intravenously bid.for 3 days(started at one hour before operation). The perioperative parameters including white blood cell count(WBC),C-reaction protein(CRP),glucose(Glu),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),alanine aminotransferase(ALT),blood urea nitrogen(BUN),serum creatinine(SCr) and prealbumin(PAB) in blood were detected. Results On the 1st and 7th postoperative day,WBC,CRP and GS in group B were significantly lower than those in group A,while PAB in group B was significantly higher than that in group A.The AST,ALT,BUN and SCr in gorup B were significantly lower than those in group A on the 1st day after operation.ConclusionPerioperative application of GM may effectively relieve the stress response to surgery and be benificial to the recovery of the organs.
